Are you aware of the many benefits aromatherapy can bring to you??? Most of us hear aromatherapy and think of adding a favourite oil to the oil burner at home. In fact aromatherapy is much more involved and can bring benefits on an emotional, mental and physical level. First let's talk about pure essential oils, not those that are often bought in supermarkets or gift shops and priced relatively cheaply. These are called fragment oils and are not suitable for burning as their content is almost always 100% chemical. Pure essential oils are derived from plants – some from the leaf, some from the bark and some from the root of the plant. Each plant is harvested at a specific time of day to ensure optimum quantity and aroma quality. Some of the more expensive oils have even been harvested overnight. Every pure essential oil has healing properties as well as its aroma. By simply inhaling the aroma, you will reap the healing benefits of a particular oil. Alternatively you can add a few drops of essential oil to your bath, vaporise the oil with boiling water in an oil burner, or add a few drops to a tissue and place under your pillow. Basil Oil is great for a dry chapped skin, eczema, coughs, colds, muscle aches. It can give clarity and strength good for fatigue of the mind. On a spiritual level basil is great for past trauma’s that affect the feeling and hearing senses for example a musician not able to create his gifts for the world. Basil helps unfold rapid spiritual growth.
